TechSmith Launches Camtasia Relay 4.1 with Hosted Option

TechSmith announced the release of a new version of its industry-leading lecture capture and knowledge sharing enterprise tool, Camtasia Relay 4.1, which provides an option for using Camtasia Relay on a hosted service. When developing the new and improved Camtasia Relay 4.1, TechSmith listened closely to its customer base, adding new features that maximize its ease of use, versatility and affordability.

“Camtasia Relay 4.1 now provides corporate enterprises and learning institutions with an even easier solution to create learning content for sharing with any audience. Whether creating video intended for the classroom or the training room, organizations can use this solution to easily record powerful video – anytime and anywhere –on a desktop, Apple iOS or Android device,” said Rob Mowid, Camtasia Relay product manager. “The new Camtasia Relay 4.1 will help schools usher in the next wave of teaching methodologies such as flipped learning, hybrid learning and distance learning – while utilizing this same approach to allow businesses to showcase their core expertise when communicating with company stakeholders and customers.”

Today’s budgets are tight and IT departments are stretched – TechSmith now makes it possible to implement Camtasia Relay school- or company-wide without IT resources. By offering Camtasia Relay as a hosted service, TechSmith maintains the server and server software that processes and publishes your content.  With the reduced workload on technical staff, implementing Camtasia Relay across an organization is easier than ever.

To improve the usability and availability of content recorded with Camtasia Relay, TechSmith has added several new features, including:

  • The ability to capture system audio – in addition to audio from the microphone
  • The TechSmith Fuse mobile app for portable recording on Android devices and iPhones
  • Picture-in-picture availability in many formats (WMV, MP4, iPad, iPod and YouTube)
  • A single, high-quality MP3 output to simplify profile creation
  • Direct publishing output to Amazon via users’ Amazon user ID and password
