Storified by · Thu, Apr 12 2012 11:14:00

April is showering us with news and commentary about technical communications, and we’re hoping for a few flowers along the way. News this week features new ideas and trends to keep an eye on as well as new and improved tools for sharing content and collaborating.

In Technical Communications, we have posts on “Technical Writers: Defenders of the Truth,” “The Sport of Technical Communication,” and “Transitioning to Tech Comm: Five Things to Prepare Yourself,” from the Carolina Communique, the newsletter of the STC Carolina Chapter, as well as a great new post on commas from The New York Times, perspectives on doing technical documentation something on the lighter side. To round things out, we also offer some commentary on instructional design and user experience, and finish up with some Career and Life tips on “How to Find Good Programmer Writers,”  and “How to Improve Your Writing in 15 Minutes.”
